it's a list of what's scariest, not "The Best Horror Movies". Some of the older movies are "better", but most of them aren't particularly scary because the special effects and makeup weren't as good. There are exceptions of course(The Exorcist, the Shining etc.) but in terms of being actually SCARY, newer movies manage much better.
